GBR Team selection trials

posted 19 Jan 2015, 06:35 by rutland teamracing
After the first weekend's racing was cancelled due to gales, the British Team selection trials were successfully completed last weekend at Rutland Water. Saturday's round robin series saw 64 races completed in a good force 3 breeze. At the end of the day, six adult teams and four junior teams were invited by the selectors to continue racing on Sunday.

In the open trials, the West Kirby Hawks (the reigning World Champions) emerged victorious with 15 wins ahead of the Royal Forth Hoosiers (the current Wilson Champions) with 11 wins. Magdalen College School convincingly won the youth series, with Sevenoaks School taking second place with a 3:1 victory over the West Kirby Highlanders in the play offs.

The official RYA team selections should be confirmed shortly. A full report on the trials is available on the UK Team Racing Association website.
